Drywood Termite Control

Unlike Subterranean termites, believe it or not, Drywood termites don’t require any connection to the ground. Aside from fumigation, there are other very effective methods of termite control. Our primary method for eliminating Drywood termites consists of identifying points of infestation in your home and injecting Termidor HE into the affected area. This method allows for comprehensive, complete eradication of the termite infestation. We also offer orange oil treatment as well, which allows you to stay in your home throughout the entire treatment process.

Signs of Drywood Termites

Drywood termites typically live in dry, sound wood, deriving their moisture requirements from the wood they consume. These difficult pests can build colonies in structural timbers, wood furniture, flooring, window trim, door frames, and other pieces of wood throughout your home or business. Drywood termites don’t need any connection to soil in their galleries. They instead build large, irregular galleries that run across and with the wood grain. Some signs to watch for include:

  • Fecal pellets ejected from galleries via kick-out holes found below the damaged wood. These pellets are hard and oval with rounded ends.
  • Swarms of flying termites setting off to mate. These swarms typically occur in southern California from September to October on warm, sunny days.

If you notice any of these signs or believe you may have termites in your home, call our team today for a free inspection.

Termidor

At United Termite Control, we utilize advanced technology and proven techniques to eradicate the termite infestation in your home or business. For Drywood termite control, we believe that means combining the foam method with TermidorSC.

Although we also use local injection, fumigation, and extraction as methods of Drywood termite control, this combination of the old and new has proven to be an extremely effective termite control and removal method, eliminating the entire colony with ease. This process involves injecting the product into a foam solution, using an old method of termite removal that allows the product to penetrate the target areas more fully.

While it is applied, the foam expands to coat the interior walls of the termite galleries within the target area, ensuring contact is made with the termite colony. The new element of this approach is the product we’re using: TermidorSC. TermidorSC has a transfer effect that makes it far more effective than other products in eradicating an entire termite colony. Simply put, once the targeted termites come into contact with the TermidorSC, they, in turn, become carriers of the product, transferring it to other termites they come into contact with. This triggers a chain of transfer that gradually makes its way through the entire termite colony.

Orange Oil Method for Drywood Termite in San Marcos

Orange Oil Method

Our team at United Termite Control is proud to now offer another effective termite control option: orange oil. This treatment allows you to remain in your home throughout the entire treatment process due to the low toxicity of the product.

Orange oil works by spreading through the wood in your walls and killing termites and termite eggs on contact. We apply the product by drilling into small holes to start spreading the orange oil through the colony. Unlike fumigation or more intensive processes, you can remain in your home throughout the entire termite removal.
